~Rest, Re-Create and just BE

Some people are really good at just taking time off and getting rested. I have not been one of them most of my life. Next week we are off for a Holiday. Don't you love that in other parts of the world they take a Holiday instead of a vacation. I'm not going to vacate anything. But I am going to make each day away a Holy Day of Re-Creating. I want to see the country's oldest city and old architecture in 2 other southern cities. This is the type of thing that re-creates me. Now if I can just not get in the hurry and rushing mind set of DisneyWorld behavior trying to see everything, it will work just fine. I hope to do some treasure hunting for my store as well. It looks like a bit of rain, but that is far better than a hurricane. So I'll take it as another excuse to refresh and just keep the umbrella handy.

Since we all live kind of hectic lives, I always wonder what other people do to
re-create during the year. How about you? Do you have a secret about your days off from work and how you refresh your body, mind and spirit?

I'll see you all when I return, and it will be fun to catch up with you!

  3. O WOW Donna...is it time for that holiday?? Have a wonderful time...you are going to some fabulous places! I can't wait to hear about what you see and do!

You know where I go to re-create. It's a great place to just forget it all and kick back and that is exactly what we do. Maybe someday, we'll be there every day or nearby, anyway!

    Have fun and safe travels!

  5. Hi, Donna
My mom grew up in the country's oldest city...my great-grandfather drove a horse and buggy in the tourist area. I have such fond memories of visiting there!

I'm not much of a "take time off to rejuvenate" person either. I guess this is good, because my children refuse to give me any time off :)

This corner of your home is so beautiful. Enjoy your time away!

  6. Donna,
Have a great holiday! I loved your discription of time off. Now that I am a keeper of home all my time is pretty much time off which has good points and not so great points.
Beautiful corner of your home. The chaise is wonderful with the green accent it makes your lovely neutral colors really interesting.
Love the MacKenzie-Childs piece on your shelf.

  7. Hey, Donna, have fun on your trip. I love going to the beach to rest & relax, but I know if you live in FL, that's not such a great thing. Hope you enjoy all those Southern cities!

  10. Your blog is lovely! I'm enjoying it very much and sad to hear about your friend Erin. I hope you have a wonderful rest. I decided at the start of Summer that the entire season was going to be a time of ease (easy books, fun with the kids, etc.) Renewing my mind... Blessings.. Polly

  11. Enjoy your time away.

I love to go to the beach and get away from the normal routine from time to time.

This year though, I will find it more refreshing to get projects completed here at home.
Hubby and I are taking time off to organize and beautify our surroundings.

Have a great and relaxing time.

    Kimberly :)

I discovered you blog through Polly at Counting Your Blessings.

    Have a nice holiday!
