~ Friday ~ Art Day

Fridays sound like a good time for me to post little peeks of my art. This just might keep me on track a bit. I can really skip around from project to project and leave things unfinished.

The week really went by too quickly. Some friends asked what I was working on this week. So here is a little peek.

One of the most fantastic things that I've discovered since starting the blog in January, is the number of artists who have blogs. It was such a surprise.

Buy art! Real art, something made, painted, created by hand. There is so much out there that is affordable instead of buying from the stores who sell factory line stuff.
I will be putting my art pieces either on Etsy or Ebay, or both. If any of you have feedback as to which one you like best for selling art, I'd love to hear it. Wish me luck with selling. I've done juried art shows and galleries with fine art, but this on line thing is quite new to me.
Fairies and flowers have been in our art since the late 70's. We have always been drawn to older art that had those images. We loved vintage paintings and illustrations, and created our own art with some of that inspiration. I'm still finding art supplies and goodies that I had stashed away for years that I'm using again.

Creating art, that's where I've been this week.
Wishing a wonderful weekend to all who stop by!

  1. Oh, I love, love these...especially the sweet faces. You are so talented, and I can see that you put a lot of heart---of yourself---into your art.

I am so not-artistic (although Mrs Staggs says that I should try!), which makes me one who greatly appreciates things made by hand. I have a lot of works by independent artisans and crafstmen, and was just thinking last night about adding and etsy and eBay lists of artisans whom I've met while blogging. I find etsy more personal, but don't know which more effectively reaches your target audience?

When you begin listing, please let me know and I will list you on my blog (and I will look forward to buying some of your pieces, too!).

    Love, Andrea

  2. Another fabulous post, Donna!

Beautful beautiful work! I will be anxiously awaiting to hear what venue, you decide! You know, I will be buying!

    Best of luck!

  3. Your work is beautiful! I prefer buying on Etsy just because the frenzy of bidding can get out of hand. Because of the bidding process you'd have the potential of making more money on eBay, unless you plan on listing at a Buy It Now price. There are alot of artists that sell on eBay. But like Andrea said, etsy is more personal. I'd buy where ever you go!

  4. Absolutely gorgeous ART!!!
I'd go to either ETSY or EBAY if that meant I could purchase your original ART work.
    Have a great weekend.

  5. These are gorgeous! I agree completely about buying REAL art and not some junk from a mass market store.

I have no experience with Etsy or Ebay so I'm no help on that.

  6. oooh, what yummy little snips of something! I can't wait to see more!

I shop eBay alot, but agree with the bidding frenzy statement. I'm just starting to feel out Etsy as a shopper, don't quite have the hang of their search system down yet; for me, they aren't quite as user friendly as eBay for buyers, but maybe that's b/c I'm so familiar with eBay. I do love how many unique things are on Etsy, just hav a hard time finding what I'm looking for.

    Ok, enough about that!

Donna, I'm de-lurking to award you with the "Thinking Blogger" award, which you've probably received tons of times, but see my blog for details if you want!

    Thanks for sharing your talents!

  7. You are so creative - what beautiful work! Love the lace trim and all the detailed touches. So sweet! I've never sold on Etsy and while there is a lot of great stuff to be found on their, just beware of underpricing your pieces. I see lots of fabulous stuff on there that I know had to have taken a lot of time effort, but it's so underpriced! I know that's great for buyers, but sellers need to benefit, too. Let us know what you decide!

  8. Love your work. Can't wait to see more.

  9. Your art is wonderful. The little baby with a crown is darling.

  10. This is beautiful! Love the little baby too :)

  11. Thanks for all your imput. I guess the best thing to do is just dabble a bit in both areas and see how it goes.
I really appreciate your kind words.

  12. All I know is, your art is precious and beautiful. I'm so glad that you will be offering some for others to own and enjoy. I think Etsy or another blog linked to this one might be a good idea.

  13. I'm a fellow artist also and I would love to know how to connect with other artists and their blogs. I love your site!!
