~ Ranch Style House Remodel, Before & After

This house was very lucky to have a new owner who could see
all the really good things that were possible for it.
And obviously, so very talented people who did the work!

Could anyone "save" this house?
It sure needed some love, vision and a whole lot of work.

There are several contractors in our area who specialize in renovations and remodeling. One of these sometimes tackles ranch style homes. They are often found in older established neighborhoods with magnificent trees and no stairs to climb. but short on curb appeal after a half century of living.

At the time, this particular contractor used to do smaller jobs on homes that were probably about 1600 to 2000 sq. feet. It's a real challenge and one that was handled smashingly well here!

This is the after shot. I think there was quite a bit of space added to the backside as well as this fabulous revamp to the front. There are so many great features to love about living in a ranch style house. And I often hear people wondering if they can improve the facade. This one certainly says yes!

  2. Thanks for sharing this inspiring before and after house...particularly love the garden...

  3. What a huge difference they made, that is one of the best re-do's I have ever seen! Thanks for sharing, have a great time digging with the hubs, can't wait to see how it will all turn out!

  4. Wonderful re-do. I am amazed at how much a little ingenuity and a whole bunch of time and money can transform a place. Diana

  5. Donna, thank you for sharing your photos. What a great transformation!
You must be so happy. I love the new look and you have a nice weekend.

  6. I wish it were my house, but no, it isn't. It is such a wonderful design change isn't it!

  7. I really like what they did here. That really took some fantastic visualization on the part of the owners. I really like how the front looks like a mix between a French Chateau and early American style. At least to me it looks that way. :)

  8. I love this makeover Donna!

The old Back Porch vanished Tuesday afternoon, this week. I had a I could get into my dashboard, because I have other blogger blogs for lists and tests. Just couldn't get the main blog. Someone told me it was probably hackers that took the domain name. When clicked, my old link goes to a commercial site.

Anyway....I feel like this was serendipity. I've been thinking about changing for awhile. Going to a fee based host. I found a way to get my page back at blogger and will leave it open, won't post there, though. Hope it doesn't disappear again. I have comments on moderation there, too. All my lists and archives are there so I don't want to close out that blog.

TypePad is a learning experience and it will take awhile to get my page the way I want it, but I think I will like it there.

    Thanks for coming by!

I truly had no idea I was touching so many lives with that little blog, written by a senior citizen in the middle of America. I have been overwhelmed with emotion from all the wonderful comments, emails and support from around the world, after this happened.

  9. WOW What a difference! Amazing what some people can do with an eye sore huh? Hope you are doing well - finally had some time to get by and visit and actually leave a comment letting you know I've been by. Have a wonderful week.

  10. Wow! That's amazing.

    Warm blessings,
